Job Title: Installation Technician (Apprentice)

Position Summary

Affordable Appliance Repair is building a best-in-class appliance installation team. We're hiring an Installation Technician (Apprentice) to support our Lead Installers with the delivery and installation of household appliances in residential settings. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role ideal for someone mechanically inclined and eager to learn the trade. Opportunities for advancement are available as we grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with delivery and installation of washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges, ovens, and microwaves
  • Safely move appliances using dollies, straps, and other equipment
  • Help connect appliances to water, gas, and electrical lines under lead installer supervision
  • Unbox appliances and prep the installation area
  • Clean up job sites after installation
  • Follow directions from Lead Installer and contribute to a smooth and safe install process
  • Communicate politely and professionally with customers
  • Capture photos and job completion details using company app
  • Learn installation standards, tools, and safety practices to grow into a lead role

Qualifications

Required:

  • Physically able to lift and move heavy appliances with team assistance
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and professionalism

Preferred:

  •  1+ year experience in appliance delivery, installation, moving, or construction
  • Basic mechanical or handyman skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

Position Summary

Affordable Appliance Repair is launching a dedicated appliance installation division to serve our growing base of residential customers. We’re seeking an experienced Lead Appliance Installer to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering and installing major home appliances with precision, professionalism, and safety. You’ll work with a helper to complete daily installs, ensure customer satisfaction, and uphold our standard of excellence in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and install major home appliances (washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, ranges, and ovens)
  • Read and interpret work orders, site specs, and installation instructions
  • Safely connect gas, water, electrical, and ventilation systems (where applicable)
  • Install anti-tip brackets, stacking kits, pedestals, trim, and accessories as needed
  • Confirm all appliances are level, tested, and functioning before leaving the site
  • Communicate clearly with customers and address any installation concerns
  • Maintain accurate records, collect signatures, and capture photos of completed jobs
  • Identify and report job-site hazards or incomplete site prep before proceeding
  • Safely load/unload appliances using dollies, straps, and lift gate
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the installer helper/apprentice

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in appliance installation (residential)
  • Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing connections (standard 120V/240V, gas flex lines, water lines, drain hoses)
  • Able to read floor plans, site layouts, and installation guides
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Physically able to lift and maneuver appliances with assistance
  • Comfortable using smartphone-based routing and job completion apps

Preferred:

  • Experience with built-in, high-end, or integrated appliance installs
  • EPA Type I certification (a plus, not required)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

Must-Haves:

  • Minimum of 3 years of appliance repair experience
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of major appliances

  • Comfortable with mobile apps and scheduling/diagnostic software
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs, climb stairs, and perform physically active work
  • Highly reliable, self-directed, and solution-oriented
